Airports

There are several airports in Moscow. The main ones are:

- Sheremetyevo Airport (SVO)

- Domodedovo Airport (DME)

- Vnukovo Airport (VKO)

Sheremetyevo Airport (SVO) is Moscow’s main airport. There are two terminals: Sheremetyevo 1 for domestic flights and Sheremetyevo 2 for international flights. Most international flights arrive or depart from Sheremetyevo Airport.

The airport is located 29 km from Moscow (northwest of the city)

Coach services run between all airports and Moscow Central Air terminal. The journey takes between 30 and 80 minutes.

To get to Sheremetyevo airport:

Buses:

Line 851: links the airport to the city centre. Buses run every day.
Line 517: links the airport to the Planernaya metro station. Buses run every day (24/7).
Line 551: links the airport to the Rechnoi Vokzal metro station. Buses run every day (24/7)

Trains:

You can use local trains to get to the airport. Those trains link Sheremetyevo station 2 - Sovetskiy Vagzal to the city centre. The journey takes about 70 minutes.


Taxi:

Taxi ranks are located just outside the airport. The fare to the city centre costs about 31 euros (1.070 rubles) and the journey takes around 45 minutes.

Domodedovo Airport (DME) is one of the main airports and is located 34 km from Moscow.

To get there:

Buses:
There are buses every 15 minutes from Domodiedowskaja metro station.

Trains:
There is a train (elektriczka) from Pawlecki station (metro Pawieleckaja) which also goes through Nagatinskaja and Warszawskaja metro stations. It runs every hour: to the airport (5 am – 10.30 pm) and from the airport (4.30 am - 2.50 am)

To get there

Taxi:
Taxis are available 24 hours a day.

Trains:
Kievsky station is connected to the airport. The Aeroexpress fast trains link Kiev station with the airport.  Tickets cost 200 rubles. For more information, check their website: www.aero-express.ru.

Buses:
You can get the following buses from the airport to Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station (Red line): lines 611 and 611c (express) – they leave every 10-15 minutes. Tickets cost 0.40 euros - 15 rubles (but approximately 0.65 euros - 25 rubles if you buy them on board from the driver)

Metro
It is the most convenient and safest form of transport in Moscow. It runs from 6 am until 1 am, every 1-3 minutes. A single ticket costs 0.55 euros (22 rubles).
